AEG dishwashers
It was in 1886 when Josephine Cochran got worn-out of scrubbing stubborn food left-over in
her dishes and pans. It prompted her to invent the first practical dishwasher. Though she had fun using it herself,
only hotels and restaurants patronized her contraption after she introduced it in a World’s Fair in 1893. Her
dishwasher was a hand-operated mechanical dishwasher.
Almost in the same time, in 1883 Berlin engineer Emil Rathenau obtained the license for the lamp patents of
Thomas Edison. He then created 'Deutsche Edison Gesellschaft' (DEG) (German Edison Company) in Berlin. In 1887, the
company was given a new name 'Allgemeine Electricitäts Gesellschaft' (AEG) (General Electric Company).
AEG then reinforced Cochran’s introduction of dishwasher into the world. AEG dishwasher along with its vacuum
cleaners, electric cookers, washing machines heaters, and refrigerators reformed our way of life.
We don’t know the special features of Cochran’s version but during her time, it was the most advance household
machine people wondered. Today, AEG dishwasher amazes us with easy control panels in LCD display and immediate
program feedback. The dishwasher is practical because it is set up to save water, detergent and electricity. So
silent and marvelously designed, AEG dishwasher allows us to experience the finest wash performance.
AEG joined forces with Electrolux to develop and satisfied modern households with brands of superb performance,
quality and a clear, structured design. AEG brands used Electrolux slogan: Perfect in form and function. The slogan
clearly defines the unity of traditional values AEG was founded and the modern demands of time for style,
functionality, practicality and performance.
